H₂ ECOnomy's immediate goal, vis-à-vis fuel cell product development, is a 1-5kW net output UPS extender – designed to replace battery racks with fuel cells. Powered by a hydrogen fuel cell, the UPS Extender would be able to bridge interruptions in service that persevere for hours.

We have already developed and tested several prototypes that are currently being tested in real-life conditions.

H₂ ECOnomy's UPS Extenders will offer highly reliable, quiet and cost-effective solutions to businesses, hospitals, financial institutions and others who must protect against data and productivity losses when power failures occur. Based on the company’s proprietary bipolar plates and system design they are more lightweight and smaller than conventional add-on battery racks, for the same backup duration. They will save businesses millions of dollars in uninterrupted mission critical operations and additional space required to house conventional systems.
